Inspired by the love of doll collecting from her own mother, Diane Hoffman found her passion for dolls at a young age. Forty-five years ago, Diane founded Turn of the Century Antiques on Antique Row in Denver, Colorado. During this time, she has acquired a vast knowledge of all aspects of the antique world, specializing in dolls and teddy bears.

I only leave reviews when I feel compelled to do so. First off, this is my opinion. I don't believe in "bashing" people, but I have to say this- We visited this area on vacation and my being an antique German head China doll collector I thought it would be nice to visit this store. I've also watched a few of Ms. Hoffman's videos in the past.

The experience was chilly from the start. I got the impression that Ms. Hoffman and her employees start sizing people up the minute they approach the store. I also got the impression that if they come to the conclusion that you look as if you have nothing of value to offer then they treat you as such. I walked out of the store with a lady ( a stranger and I'm guessing also a tourist like myself ) and she told me that Ms. Hoffman and the employees made her feel like a "3rd class passenger on the Titanic".

I noticed that Ms. Hoffman is quick to argue and attack the negative reviewers on here instead of trying to fix the problem, which is her attitude toward others. People have feelings and WORTH, Ms. Hoffman. Try putting that ego of yours aside sometimes and try a little kindness. You may even enjoy it and who knows!? You may even make a profit! My parents were business owners and I learned a long time ago that it's foolish, arrogant and classless to judge a book by its cover.

I have been in this store 3 times and will not return. Poor customer service. Rachel was rude and insulting.

I spoke to a woman on the phone who was ignorant of the doll business and not helpful at all.

Rachel Hoffman is as beautiful as her dolls. She is so attentive and accommodating. Her desire is to please her clientele. She is so responsive and sweet and knowledgeable and helpful. She is the apple of God's eye. Rachel, Diane, Pam, and Stanley are truly a blessing to the doll world. They all are a pure delight! I love this doll shop so much! Love, Karen S.

I found this place absolutely charming, It is all about dolls in here, if that's not your thing. Wel, l you may be disappointed. the outside is charming. I was enchanted by this store. I found the people there Knowledgeable and friendly, While I was there someone came in with dishes and they were more than willing to give her information and advice. Nice people, Nice place, I don't even collect dolls. I loved it.

Don't waste your time with this place! Horrendous service! I walked in and there wasn't anyone around to greet me or say hi. There was a younger woman taking dolls out of a box and she glanced at me but never said a word. Then this other lady walked out from around the corner and just looked at me with a look that made me feel like I was inconveniencing her.

She finally asked if I needed help and I explained why I was there. Long story short, she flat out said my family's stuff that I was inquiring about was worthless. I understand that there are things that aren't as valuable as other things, but there's a way to tell someone that and she failed, miserably. My advice to them: Greet everyone with a smile no matter what they look like and learn how to speak to people when it comes to telling them their stuff isn't as valuable as they had thought. Again, don't waste your time here. There are a number of antique stores in that area, go to one of those instead, trust me!

Neon open sign on. Person Inside. Door locked. Two stars for looking like a store I would enjoy. -3 for neon open sign while door is locked and women inside behind the counter just glaring.

On a stretch of South Broadway packed with antique shops, Turn of the Century Antiques stands out for its great inventory and its owners' commitment to the success of the neighborhood. Rachel works tirelessly to promote the LoBro area and its small business owners. A fabulous store with a truly great vision for the future of this historic neighborhood!

I had a few old dolls that my grandmother's mother had handed down to me and I was looking to sell them or at least figure out what they were worth. I searched multiple stores on Broadway and found Turn of the Century to be the most knowledgeable and give the fairest/best offer. I was greeted kindly at the door by one of the employees who offered me something to drink since it was really hot out. (very nice of them since they totally went out of their way to get me a bottle of water) They handled my dolls very respectfully and inspected them carefully.

A young lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable and described to me in detail the history of the doll and what she thought it was worth based off the condition. The owner of the store gave me very reasonable prices (i had researched them and compared them to the other stores). Everyone was very respectful, very professional and I had a wonderful experience. Will definately shop here again!

I went into this store looking to sell some old toys, specifically some 1950's Barbies and a train set. I walked up to the counter and was seen by the lady behind the counter (whom I later found out was the co-owner of the store, along with her husband). She stated she would be with me in a minute. That would be perfectly fine if she were helping another customer, or actually doing some work, but instead she was clearly gossiping with another woman about that woman's relationship.

After standing there for several minutes, another, younger girl (apparently the owner's daughter) came over to see if she could help. I explained my purpose for being there, however, this girl didn't have the first clue how to help me, so she asked her mother to help. The mother became very defensive for having been interrupted from her gossip session, and with much attitude said, "I said I'd help her in a minute!" The mother and daughter proceeded to argue right there in the open for a good 2 minutes.

Just as I was about to take my things and leave, another woman said that she could take a look at the Barbies, and have the owner (referring to the husband) take a look at the train set. Both items were handled very poorly, with complete disregard that I was attempting to get these items sold in the excellent condition that I had kept them. I was shocked at how brutish the employees of an antique store handled these items.

After a quick glance, it was determined that they could not buy the train set. Fair enough. However, after close scrutiny of the Barbie dolls, the woman attempted to grossly undersell me. I had done my research and knew very well how much the dolls should go for, and opted for selling them at an antique store, rather than hassling with eBay. However, it seems as though with the rude and unprofessional demeanor of the employees of Turn of the Century Antiques, eBay is definitely the way to go.
