Preserve and protect the nighttime environment and our heritage of dark skies through environmentally responsible outdoor lighting. Visit the Internation Dark Sky Association. We're proud to feature this new watercolor by our contributing artist Patsy Cannon! Patsy is just one of many talented Georgians, working in a variety of mediums, whose art you'll find in our store.

While every effort was made to be true to the history, tradition, and charm of the original structure, Jim Reaves and Carol Cordray, with the help of many friends and family, spent six months in early 2003 doing a near complete restoration of the existing buildings on Hwy 76, a beautiful five-mile drive west of Clayton.
Services
To the casual observer or those driving by this familiar landmark, the store appears almost unchanged, but you'll realize nothing could be further from the truth once you pass through the door. The shop is now brightly lit, items are displayed in an uncluttered, well thought-out manner, and your surroundings conjure up nostalgia and fond memories even as contemporary jazz plays softly while you browse. And browse you will, cause there's so much to see, and there are new things to discover with each visit!

I have not been to this store before. Just saw a segment on it on FB and I am very excited about making a trip there. And more than anything, I want to rent the Caboose one night. I love trains and miss seeing the caboose at the end of the train. Young people just have no idea how neat that is. Planning a trip up that way in October and will check into renting the caboose in March. Can't wait to check this place out!

Within 30 seconds of entering the store, the owner yelled at a little girl (father and daughter immediately left the store), yelled at a man who had a camera, and talked down to my mother for not knowing what the civil war bullets were made of. We took a quick look around but we're so put off by the experience we quickly left. We'll never come near this place again. It's a real shame because it's a cool antique store. Too bad the owner doesn't know how to treat customers. As soon as you walk in you'll be suspect. Don't do it!

We have taken several 2-3 day mountain trips since we don't live that far from mountains of north Georgia and North Carolina. This was definitely the most unique place we have ever stayed. The pictures don't do it justice. It's an old C&O Caboose that's been completely renovated and it actually has plenty of room, especially for just me and my wife. Jim, the owner, is extremely friendly and is always available to answer questions.

He and his wife also own the antique shop beside the caboose and are there during the day and on weekends. If you're looking for something a little different, but that you will thoroughly enjoy then this is the place for you. We surely had a great time.

A very nice, very quaint store with many interesting items. Antique hunters love out of the way places like this. Rent the Caboose for a unique experience! It's not overpriced and is a beautifully restored antique that has been modernized for comfort. TV, streaming video, high speed wifi, usb plugs, etc. The owner is a great guy and will gladly tell you about local attractions you wouldn't otherwise know.

Very interesting items, most way over priced. A lot of signage touting how rare or last of it's kind it is, on some ordinary stuff. There were a lot of negative signs as well to keep people from using the bathroom unless you buy, don't use their trash can, don't touch this, don't pick up that. If I am going to buy, of course I am going to pick it up and examine it thoroughly, especially at those prices. The person working was a pleasant man, who sang with the oldies music playing.
