My favorite antique shop in Chicagoland. This is the place for mid century furniture. I have found a couple of fantastic pieces for my home as well as for my resale business. It's a fantastic place to stroll through and you can come often as there is a decent amount of inventory turnover. The best stuff seems to go very quickly vis there Instagram page so make sure to keep an eye there too.

I think the staff has to deal with some real characters in there, so they can be a little short and ornery at times but in the end are always helpful and get the job done. I never fault them as I see some of the things that are asked of them and it is insane! They are top notch here. I didn't discover it until 2021 only because I am now in Lake County. Prices are decent but be sure to try and get a deal on higher priced items! My latest purchase is pictured here.

If you're in the market for vintage furniture, Broadway will be a great stop! This "antique" (really more retro/vintage) market has 2 floors. The lower level has more smaller things - bar ware, collectibles, kitsch etc. There's a good amount of vintage clothing and jewelry as well. The upper level Is mostly furniture from the 50's to 70's along with a dealer that specializes in original movie posters. Prices for the most part seemed "okay" to me and I think if you want that Don Draper look you're going to be very happy here. All the dealers did have nicely organized displays and the store was clean and brightly lit. Worth stopping in from time to time to see what's on offer.

Spread over two floors, Broadway Antique Market has an incredible, curated selection of vintage furniture, collectibles, housewares, and everything in between. Prices are consistently high compared to online sellers and other area antique shops, but the quality of pieces and unique objects is hard to beat. Amazing collection, and a great antique destination in the city, but be prepared to spend $$$, should you decide to buy

If I could give zero stars, I would. We were only in the store for 30 seconds. The stern "shop lady" barked instructions at me and my 5 year old son three times in that 30 seconds. So, I just said "ok, it's clear they don't want us here. Let's go." I was hoping to give some business to a local shop after just moving to the neighborhood (and needing to fill my new home with furniture). Parents are not welcome! Edit: Now the angry shop owner is reinventing what happened.

My child never jumped on anything. And, after the first angry bark, I calmly told my son not to lean on any furniture (he never jumped on anything). I even said: Did you hear what the lady said? Then More barking orders. My son is neurodivergent and cannot have his hand held (he is a touch adverse child). People like you are the reason parents with neurodivergent kids hate going out in public.

And btw I've read all about your racist and nazi paraphernalia here on yelp. And I also read that you tried to gaslight a black woman about a racist poster she found in your store. Im glad I didn't give any money to a store that sells nazi and blackface objects. How disgusting! You should be ashamed.

Awesome antique mall! Two stories, lots of antique furniture and trinkets, all in great condition. Items aren't overpriced and there's a lot of great history for sale here! I specifically wanted to highlight the staff at this location. You see, I had left my wallet somewhere amongst the treasure trove of items in the store. Two employees walked around the store with me to help me find it. They were extremely kind and helpful.

Extraordinary determination of collectible/vintage furniture notwithstanding an abundance of other wonderful segments - garments, cameras, typewriters, Chicago explicit stuff, film banners, and so forth Costs are likewise lovely sensible for the kinds of collectibles you're finding there. Profoundly propose looking at it in case you're a fanatic of antiquing!

This place has really amazing vintage furniture, home decor and even comic books. It's really interesting stuff to look at. I definitely enjoy coming here.

Prices are absolutely absurd. Everything is overpriced. Good selection on records and old furniture and clothes, but awful prices on all collectibles. Called if they had any Hot Wheels and they said "we don't have a ton but we have a couple" me having experienced that "a couple" means 1 or 2 booths have hot wheels. (That's just what I've experienced in my antique hunting).

Show up and ask again, this time "ooooh that's a tough one" showed me a booth with 1 TUPPERWARE TUB WITH LESS THAN 20 HOT WHEELS FROM THE 2010s FOR FIVE FREAKING DOLLARS EACH! NOT EVEN IN THE PACKAGE! They were in terrible condition. Immediately left. Will never go back. stay away from this place unless you wanna see some horrid prices. I'm sorry for ranting but they need to adjust the prices. Badly.

I can spend hours decorating my future home with the uniquely crafted antiques found at Broadway Antique Market. The items are neat, sleek, and displayed so well you would want to buy everything. From large pieces of furniture to 90's cookbooks there is so much you can find here for a great price. Also as of 8/2021 masks are required for entry which I think is very important since I spent almost an hour walking around. I felt much safer knowing that the staff is looking out for the well-being of all.

Great selection of antique/vintage furniture in addition to a wealth of other awesome sections - clothes, cameras, typewriters, Chicago specific stuff, movie posters, etc. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the types of antiques you're finding there. Highly suggest checking it out if you're a fan of antiquing!

I'm not an antique fan, but I went here with a friend who was and it was really cool to walk around the store. They have a ranging and great selection. A lot of stuff was pricy for me, but I'm sure reasonable for anybody else who understands the value of antiques.

This place is amazing. I always stop in when I have a couple hours to kill. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are great and they work with you recommending movers to get bigger pieces delivered. Once one of the dealers overheard me trying to figure out how to get a bigger purchase home and offered to drop it off because we lived in the same neighborhood!

When would that happen in New York?!? They're only open Fridays Saturdays and Sundays now, so that takes a little planning but it's worth it. Now matter what you're looking for, if it's vintage chances are you'll find it here! Thanks Broadway!

Love this place! SO much cool stuff.antique to vintage to mid-century. Nice source of decor, furniture, vintage clothes, kitsch, posters, jewelry.you get the idea. NO junk. Owners and staff are outstanding. Example: I was looking for a unique, single wineglass for a mismatched set. The owner found several for me, immediately! Thanks for a great experience every time I'm there.

I've always loved shopping here, and even marveled at some of the oddities, but on a recent trip there was one oddity I couldn't funk with. Near some of the questionably racist music scores (which I've always looked at with fascination mixed with horror, but I understand a seller might have such a thing in their possession and simply wish to be rid of it) was a mask in a glass case. I've never seen anything like it.

It was a combination of a klan hood and a blackface mask, if you can imagine. It looked well-worn, even sweaty around parts. It would have been horrifying in any case, but as it was being sold by the same seller who has music scores of blackface minstrel shows, I did the math. I creepy blackface mask (or death mask?) just feels too far. So I figured: "I'll say something to the ownership. They've always been helpful in the past." Not today.

I told them (two guys) the mask seems too borderline and they should consider taking it down. They didn't understand why. I tried to explain, pointing out it's the same booth selling other blackface performance memorabilia. They still didn't understand and then proceeded to tell me about how Black people love buying this stuff. Which is confusing, because I'm Black and I'm telling them I find it horrifying.

They argued that historians are quite interested in this kind of material (which is an argument I've heard from other antiques dealers selling racist stuff -- see my other posts. This is also a bullshit argument since I'm fairly certain the number of historians actually conducting research by shopping at the antiques store is fairly slim compared to run-of-the-mill consumers with no interest in doing the extra legwork to understand the context of their purchase).

They further argued that it's not like the mask is, say, Nazi memorabilia. That's where I lost it and had to leave the store, never to return. Don't ever tell a Black person that they shouldn't get so upset about blackface because it's not like it's a swastika. If you want to argue you're contributing to history, do some damn historical research so you know what the hell it is you're selling. I'll never shop their again, only because the thought of supporting ignorant white people who help propagate racist material in the world is too sickening.

A great place to find that vintage treasure you need in your life with an incredible staff to help if you need it! I recently purchased my lane acclaim desk from them and it was such a pleasant process, they even put it on hold till they opened on the weekend! Stop in to check out their unique selection and expert customer service, they are currently open on weekends 11am-6pm. Mask required! Also follow them on social media! Support these local businesses!

I can spend hours here (and I have). So much stuff from a variety of decades and styles, including the 1970s, my favorite. I bought a glass table and faux velvet chairs and they delivered promptly.

This is one of the most unique places I've been to in Chicago. It's a true hidden gem, considering I pass it all the time (usually when it's already closed) and only recently decided to go in. I love its almost nostalgic "museum" vibe, and I could see spending well over an hour looking around at everything. The staff lets you browse and doesn't bother you, and if you need help they're happy to answer questions or open the glass cases.

Without a doubt, the best antique store in the Chicago area. Located in a former Art Deco furniture store with a charming terra-cotta facade, Broadway Antique Market is filled with mid-century modern, nostalgic kitsch and Art Deco objects and furniture. It's not often that I can walk out of their store without a treasure in hand. And Danny, Jeff, Eric and the entire BAM staff are always at your service to help with knowledgeable advice and your purchase. Recycling and buying vintage is good for the environment! Don't waste your time or money at Target, IKEA, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn or any of those chain stores trying to peddle new merchandise disguised with yesterday's charm to the now generation. Find the real deal at BAM!

I have since been to BAM two other times, and I bought something both times. I actually really love the selection here, so I decided to update my review. There are a lot of hidden gems if you keep your eyes peeled.

Update; Thanks for your response. It might be helpful if your cashiers mentioned the "24 hour approval" policy (this was news to me). I had the lamp for roughly 7 hours before I determined it wasn't a fit. You mentioned refunds were not possible since you 'payed vendors immediately'. Maybe CUSTOMERS should be more of a priority? Best

Simply the best antique mart. The staff is always incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can spend hours here looking at a variety of treasures. Just bought jewelry, bow ties, and vintage magazines today. Can't wait for our next visit.

Don't waste your time here. The selection is ok but the customer service is awful. The owner is gruff and unwelcoming which negatively affected the shopping experience. There are better antique stores in the city with similar or better quality items. As much as I would like to support neighborhood shops like this, I can can overlook the product selection - that can change - but the rude customer service makes this store a disappointment.

I highly recommend BAM! When I was purchasing my condo I found some pieces and they were kind enough to hold them until my movers were able to pick up the pieces I purchase from here. Love the entire place!

Been here multiple times, and it never ceases to amaze me how unhelpful and rude the staff is. Owners, employees, booth vendors.everyone. Like someone killed their dog and then told them to take it out on anyone who rolled through the door. If you want overpriced, average finds with a LARGE attitude, then this is your place. Lighten up BAM, you're not that big of a deal!

Fun and interesting stop while in Chicago. The Broadway Antique Market is a very large store yielding a variety of great antiques. main focus seems to be MCM - nonetheless, it was clean and well-organized.

They got nothing but junk here. But if you like nasty average old lady decor shit from the "I Love Lucy and Lawrence Welk" era, then you might have a few finds. And all this Mid Century Modern talk is BS. All MCM is another way of saying I got no money so I'm in the market for a used formica kitchen table. If you really like Eames and Florence Knoll, go directly to Herman Miller and Knoll Studio and pony up your $7,000 for a real piece of 50's history.

An antique stored filled to the brim on two (2) floors. There are many items, there surely is some kind of treasure that would fit your individual taste and needs. The store reminded me of the old Studio V (vee) which was located at 672 N. Dearborn and closed shortly after the owner passed away in 1999, but on a much larger scale. Lots of Art Deco items in this store.

Art Deco was really big around 1986, it was highly sought after at that time. Not sure about demand since then. It works well in a city environment. I purchased a St. George silver plated icon for $18 which they mislabeled as to do with the Crusades. The help seemed more interested in sitting at the desk, eating cookies and not too interested in looking around if someone needed help or had a question. I will return!

I really enjoyed looking around here! It reminds me of a ln antique market back home I liked going to. Very spacious and lots of interesting pieces to look at. I bought a 1950s pink poodle to go in my room from here. I'll definitely be back!:
