Catalina Rug

Rug ordered met all of our expectations and we enjoy it every time we look at it. It is hand knotted and vegetable extract dyed so each color comes in a range of similar dye shades that is very attractive. Repeating geometric patterns are mostly similar but not identical given the handmade process, and distinctly different from a manufactured carpet.

There is also a distinct nap to the pile. We are proud to be the stewards of this rug that took about 9 months to make. The purchase price was good as far as our search comparison with alternative suppliers, and the shipping and delivery to Canada went as expected, albeit with a delay by Canada Customs to inspect. We have bought three rugs from Catalina. The rugs are beautiful and reasonably priced (for hand-knotted Orientals). The service is great -- they respond to any questions promptly, and we have never had a problem with the rugs or the delivery. And their website is full of educational materials to help you understand what you are buying. I recommend them highly.

I've bought 5 Persian rugs from Catalina over the last 3-4 years. Their quality is outstanding. Wide variety. Service excellent. Each one is truly a magic carpet, in that they are the gem that makes the whole place come alive. I am an Internet person thus the detailed information, photos and answers to question takes my trust in their products far above the buying process in local showrooms. And they arrive FedEx ground in a couple days.

My wife and I have purchased several Oriental rugs from Catalina over the years. Quality and variety are two things we value--we get both from this company. In addition, the cost of our rugs would be much more expensive is bought locally. The knots per square inch information proved is most helpful in making our decisions. We are most pleased with the courteous staff, the quick shipments, and protective packing.

We will purchase additional Orientals from Catalina in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone searching for a dealer they can trust and with whom they would be glad to buy from more than once.

I have purchased 4 rugs over the last 7 years and I am always happy with my purchase. Their website is outstanding and very thorough. They have a no pressure policy and you can return if need be. I love the video walkthrough also. I can't imagine any other way to buy a rug.

Difficult. The main problem is they will not answer the question asked nor address the topic you are trying to get clear. This compounds the complexity of selecting a high-end rug. Rugs are difficult to value based on many factors, somewhat like diamonds. In my case, I was quoted a price for repair (binding) a rug in an email. The mail was not written in standard English.

When I delivered the rug all they would talk about was cleaning the rug for the price quoted. They were going to have someone else pick up my rug and give me a quote. Catalina does not actually do repairs at all. Swell, wasted my time. I'll google a binding shop instead.

Beautiful hand-knotted rugs with detailed specifications, reasonable prices (and frequent sales) as well as super helpful, personalized customer service (thanks Rose!). Rugs are shipped in a protective covering and the associated rug pads are already cut to size. I will shop here again!

After looking at many websites and stores, we bought a 6 * 10 Kashan rug from Catalina Rug. It was shipped right away and delivered soon enough, nicely packed. It looked even better than in the pictures. Very happy with the prompt service, the delivery and the product itself. We like that it is hand-knotted and not hand-tufted. Liked the filtering capabilities on the website and the multiple pictures of a rug, it really helped in our decision making process. Great job Catalina Rug!

The rug I purchases was well packed in a sturdy carton and in excellent condition upon arrival. Speedy service from FedEx. Also the rug was as described and as pictured. My one question about the rug binding on the long edges was quickly answered by Rose. I won't hesitate to do business with them again.

I was excited to find Catalina Rug online and impressed by the pictures they use to display their inventory. I ordered an Afghan rug that was represented online as 4'10" x 6'10". The length was somewhat less than I wanted but I really liked the design and colors in the pictures so I ordered it anyway. The rug they shipped to me was clearly the one pictured online and I was happy with the appearance.

But it was 4'10" x 6'5", not the 6'10" length stated online! This is not an insignificant difference and clearly a misrepresentation. There is no possible room for interpretation as the fringe is very short. Ordering something like this online makes the accuracy of the pictures and the dimensions extremely important so you can know what you are buying.

In my case at least, the representation was not accurate. I called to point out the discrepancy and was told they would look into it and get back to me. They did call me back and blamed the difference on a conversion error from cm to inches. I was left with the choice of packing up the rug and shipping it back to California or keeping it. I kept it. And decided to report my experience on yelp.

Catalina Rug is the best when it comes to quality, selection and service. I have purchased ten rugs from them over the last six years. They always seem to have what we are looking for and they are very easy to work with. Their pricing is very reasonable given the quality of their product. Our homes are much more beautiful today thanks to Catalina Rug!

This is our third and fourth rug from Catalina. The ABADEH runner is perfect in size and most important color and quality construction. The deep reds and contrasting beige with geometric pattern is a work of art. My favorite to date is the SAROUK which is absolutely beautiful with its tight KPPI and contrasting colors. Maybe too nice to put on the floor.
