My wife and I visited Golden Triangle with several small spaces in our house to decorate, but no real plan of attack. After meeting Doug on the showroom floor and taking a tour of the collection we dove headfirst into a large custom installation project to hang above our staircase. Throughout the 2 month project Doug and Pun were great partners and kept us engaged and informed.

We got computer rendered visuals and an in store layout preview. All along the way we collaborated with Doug and team on custom coloring and distressing. This location has always been a question mark in our house because of its sheer size and visual importance when you enter. We could not be happier with the results. The scope and wow factor exceed anything we would have been able to create ourselves with a photo gallery or with framed art. We highly recommend Doug and his team for a painless and exceptional experience.

A one of a kind antique dealer! We drive past this place all of the time and decided to stop on in to check out the wares. The owner is extremely knowledgeable. Suggest anyone stop in to enjoy their pieces, and maybe add a new addition to your home.

I found my experience at The golden triangle to be an exceptional one. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and kind, offering their time and expertise in describing their pieces. All of their inventory is beautiful and unique. They have a team of artisans that are wonderfully talented and create beautiful, one of a kind pieces as well as antiques from a number of different countries.

Their selection is thoughtfully laid out in beautiful showroom like areas, but the store itself is very comfortable, and allows you to visualize the pieces for your own space in a relaxed setting and environment. They use varied color combinations that are inspired. It's a beautifully, cohesively designed space, and the staff is approachable and helpful. It is a lovely place to spend an afternoon shopping.

The Golden Triangle is a beautiful showroom featuring a variety of antiques from around the world. The space is wonderfully staged and flows so well. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the history behind each piece. It's a must stop if you're looking for design inspiration or finding a one of the kind piece. A big thanks to Doug for making us feel so welcome and for making the time to share the history behind some beautiful pieces!

This is a huge, beautiful Asian antiques store located right on the Chicago River. This place is sprawling- 18,000 square feet of stuff. It's all a lot to take in. Going through here is like going through an eccentric millionaire's mansion, or an Asian cultural center. The works of art and pieces of furniture are often on a large scale- that's be a huge centerpiece of any house.

It seems that the owners get to travel the world looking for the coolest, oldest stuff from far flung reaches of the world. I'm astounded that some of this stuff is actually for sale- if you need an old dismantled temple, they've had it already broken down and shipped from exotic destinations. The store is divided up in kinda themed rooms. It's all sort of a jumble of Asian cool stuff.

The staff is ready to help. I got a few questions in here and there, but for the most part the staff left me alone to browse. They offer free parking in their small little lot out front. There's a pagoda that they have right out in front. I heard that this building used to be the headquarters for the Encyclopedia Brittanica, but I can't vouch for that. The prices here are all fairly epic. But, this is the exact opposite of Ikea- everything is unique, nothing come packaged in easy to ship boxes.

I was visiting Chicago with my friend and walked past the store front of the golden triangle. We are designers and we'd like to think that we have good taste. We decided to go in, purely based on the facade. Immediately when we entered, we knew we would not be disappointed. After a few minutes of browsing the ornate and wonderful curated selection of furnishings and home accessories, we were approached by Doug, the owner of the establishment.

We had a long lovely conversation that truly has made our experience in Chicago. We will absolutely be returning to and recommending The Golden Triangle to anyone looking to add personality and style to their house or just wanting to look at beautiful things and have a nice conversation.

A very unique place with tasteful design. If you are into or like interior design, you should not miss this place. Easy to find location right downtown Chicago. Very high end authentic and unique pieces. Hard to not find inspiration at The Golden Triangle. They do have a few small items that can make cool gifts.

I had visited The Golden Triangle when this store participated in Open House Chicago last October. Located on Clark Street just north of the Chicago River, this venue features a unique treasure trove of antiques, architectural elements, and artworks. While a great deal of the selections leans towards Asian objects, there is a fine enough stylistic variety where you will feel like you have visited a small museum after a tour of the lovely showrooms. If you have a mansion to decorate or have a few dollars in your checkbook, you might just be walking away with an incredible find.

To start, this place has a beautiful, carefully curated and organized collection of antiques and furnishings. It's a shame I ultimately did not have a great experience. As we were leaving, an employee asked my boyfriend and I how we were doing, without really turning to face us, and then asked with a grimace if we "enjoyed our tour." The implication seemed to be all we could do at this store was look, and there was no chance in hell we'd buy anything.

That assumption was both unappreciated and wrong. Yes, the two of us were twenty-somethings stopping by in our gym clothes. That shouldn't matter. I even bought some jewelry while we were there (and as an aside, our cashier was helpful and lovely), but apparently being a "paying customer" isn't enough to become a "valued customer" unless you act/look the part.

It would be great to come back here in some time to see what their next rotation of wares looks like, but I'm leaning against it. I don't feel inclined to show my paycheck at the door to get someone's respect.

A great place for home or office decor! I absolutely love this place. I've been walking by many times and I finally came in and the inside is even more fascinating than the outside. They have garden statues to furniture to wall decor. The merchandise they have are from various places around the world from China to France. It's mostly antique things so if you're looking for something from the 19th century, this is the place to go to.

One of the things I was looking at that I absolutely fell in love with was this medicine cabinet from the 19th century. It was very elegant and functional for little things. The staff are friendly and made me feel welcomed. They're very helpful. I am bringing my family here to check out the place. Definitely recommend this place

I recently purchased a beautiful piece of furniture from The Golden Triangle and smile every time I pass it by in my front hall. Given my particular needs, they suggested adding a shelf which was a wonderful idea and something they could do in-house. When the chest was ready for pickup, I couldn't believe that the shelf wasn't original to the piece because it matched so well.

Similar to a docent's tour of a museum or art gallery, the staff at Golden Triangle can fill your head with fascinating details about their many treasures as you walk through their warm & inviting space. The owners have impeccable taste and display their one of a kind pieces in room settings that make you want to redecorate your entire home. It doesn't matter if your taste is modern or vintage because all of their furniture, art, antiques & accessories span a full range and it's all top notch. More than a "store", I have taken out of town visitors to The Golden Triangle as part of their Chicago experience!

We were on our way to the Loop when we spotted The Golden Triangle. It looked neat from the outside so we had to swing in. I feel that you could spend an hour here! It felt like a very upscale antique store, filled with restorations, new & old pieces, some extremely unique.and with price tags to match. The rooms just kept going, and going. However, even if I had been interested in making a purchase, I would have had no clue how to do so. We spent close to 20 minutes in the store and never once ran into anyone else (customers or otherwise!). Nor did I ever see any type of cash register or help desk.

My most trusted source for fabulous Asian antiques in the country. I've shopped here for years and nothing else compares. Superior quality artifacts from the Far East and the most excellent customer service and appreciation.

For lovers of Asian furniture, this is heaven. We made two separate trips to this place in a single day, and I still feel like there is stuff we missed. For some, the prices may seem high, but you have to realize what you're getting. Some of these pieces are of the highest quality you can get and are made by individuals who devote their entire life to perfecting the trade. The staff at Golden Triangle is knowledgable and willing to help you with making the perfect selection for your home or business.

One of my favorite stores in the world. Amazing goods from around the globe displayed with the utmost taste and sophistication. A feast for the eyes. Prices reflect a level of quality and taste that's difficult to find elsewhere.

Even if you aren't in the market for Asian antiques, this store is worth checking out. Beautifully laid out with some really stunning pieces; the staff is incredibly friendly and outgoing (and not in a pushy way). They carry mostly Asian antiques but have some French and newer pieces made locally. Give yourself an hour to check everything out in detail.

What my ratings mean: 1 star: Horrible. I'm annoyed I wasted my time and/or money here. 2 star: Not bad but nothing special. A decent place if you can't find something else. I'd equate this to something like McDonald's. 3 star: I enjoyed my experience there and would go back to try or do more things there. 4 star: I loved it and would be excited to go back. I'd also recommend it to a friend. 5 star: A real gem of a place. A must on anyone's list.

They have occasional parties for their customers (including people like me who never buy anything expensive there), and last night the let me in to one of them even though I was late in responding to their invitation and they were at capacity. Not only was this kind of them, but I also realized all over again what I love about these occasions: you can spend over an hour rambling from room to room looking closely at their amazing store of objects without looking like you're casing the joint. It's one of the most beautiful spaces in the city, and seems to be getting more and more eclectic--the stuff they are selling is not just Asian, but a melange of Asian, British colonial (in Asia), French and Eastern European.

Somehow they make it all cohere. If I win the lottery. Till then, it's a good source of jewelry and little wooden netsuke or ojime, which I give my friends' kids for birthdays and the like.

My taste ran spang up against my bank account here, and taste lost. The prices here are very high, though frankly not out of line considering the quality of the merchandise. Everything is beautifully displayed in room settings, though in some areas, there's simply too much to take in. Still, this is a place to savor. I was happy to see that there were some European antiques in evidence since Asian style, particularly Chinese, which makes up the bulk of the merchandise here, is not really my glass of tea.

Nice mix of antique and contemporary with a line of reclaimed materials to add an even more eclectic air. But seriously, if you're not prepared to drop hundreds if not thousands of dollars, don't expect to do much shopping here.

A treasure trove of well-designed objects from around the world. My boyfriend took me there (we are both architects) and we were inspired by both the merchandise and the layout. Most items are expensive, as you might expect, but think of it as more of a gallery than a store. The owner was very friendly and gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of the woodshop where they restore antique peices and create new.

This shop is nicely laid out, but overpriced and entirely asian antiques. This was a surprise based upon their description.

They've got fabulous asian antiques here. With over 11,000 square feet of display space, its almost impossible to not see anything you like! Keep tabs on them because they also have markets and special sale shows frequently!
