The Gallery opened in the Summer of 2006 in Wiscasset, Maine, and was very well received. We recently re-opened in downtown Wiscasset and are so happy to be back! We have been collectors of rare and unusual items and works of art for many years and are proud of the collection we have acquired. We carry a superb assortment of paintings, bronzes, antique furniture, ancient Chinese objects, Neolithic and other antique pottery, high quality antique Oriental rugs, and fine jewelry. We represent nationally prominent artists Ronald Frontin, Stephen Hodecker, Eric Jacobsen and many other exceptional artists and sculptors, as well as a large collection of works by Leonard Baskin.

Stephen Hodecker was born in 1956 in Manchester, Connecticut and grew up in New Hampshire. He studied at the University of New Hampshire with John Hatch and Sigmund Abeles. He later studied in California and then Florence, Italy - where his classical figure style was established. His materials include oil, watercolor, egg tempera and pastel.
As a child, I was always playing in the dirt and mud. I haven't changed much. I re-discovered clay and began working in porcelain in 1991 to release creative energy and to be able to work at home with my two young children. My work has evolved, and now is mostly centered around impressions of colors and shapes of nature, multi-fired jewelry and small sculptural pieces with layers of lustrous colors, simple curves and organic shapes which allow subtle nuances of color to highlight each piece.I like to take a natural form or natural theme, and exaggerate textures and colors to bring the question of our place in the world into the conversation.
The family of Tobias was unique in itself. His father was a lighthouse keeper for several years with the United States Coast Guard. He later worked for the United States Weather Bureau and his job took him to places like the Arctic. He visited, lived and ate with the Eskimo. His tales when he came home were full of beauty, stories he told to encourage his children to seek out the wonders of life.
I presented my art to the public in 2011 and was encouraged by the reception to make the leap to full-time work as an artist. Enjoying the challenge and immediacy of plein air work, I create many paintings on site. I've earned a reputation for using lush greens and vibrant blues. You may also find me as "SEH Studios" because I use those initials to sign my work.
