I went to a recent auction and enjoyed it very much. The items you were able to view prior to auction and were nicely displayed. They also had water, soda, fruit, cheese and crackers. The staff was excellent to work with. Very kind, courteous and polite. The items were exciting to view and I even learned about a few items they had up for auction. I would definitely go to another auction in person and online. What a great job J.James Auctioneers!

I've been to a lot of auction houses and never have I seen one as clean and organized as this one! The staff is professional, the photos and descriptions online are fantastic. It's so top notch, you'll think you're at Sotheby's!

Had a large wall map of Plymouth County in very good condition. There is another one exactly like it (but not in as good condition) hanging on the wall at the Plymouth Library. It was an heirloom from my deceased parents estate. Online, the map, and others like it, sell for well over $1000.00. Rather then sell it own my own, I let this outfit sell it.

They sold it for pennies on the dollar! I should have kept it.20/20 hindsight. I feel so ripped off by this so-called auctioneer. He talks a storm, delivers nothing. I was also told that the map would be part of a large auction in late October. The invoice I received with the insulting check is dated September 20, 2018, weeks before the "big" auction. Don't trust this guy.

A great local auction house with large internet following. Auctions held in a lovely old chapel. Great fun on a Saturday afternoon and savvy bidders can still score on antiques, artwork, jewelry and lots more.

I purchased a WW2 medal and document at auction. When I received them in the mail the document had been inappropriately handled and was basically ruined. J. James Auctioneers does not ship their own items. There is only one shipper in Plymouth, MA - the UPS Store - so they list them as a shipping option. After investigating it turns out that the document was folded and stuffed in a plastic baggie and handed over to the shipper that way.

The shipper - unaware of what they were handling - simply wrapped the bag in bubble wrap and shipped it. The auction house - to whom I paid an absurd 20ish percent BUYER'S PREMIUM - took no action to preserve the integrity of the item that I had purchased. They completely mishandled a historic document. When contacted they were defensive and made me feel like this was not their problem.

Subsequent e-mails asking for restitution were ignored. I've gotten better service from random strangers selling things on EBay. If you're serious about things you've purchased and paid a ridiculous premium on I would avoid this auctioneer. I would upload pictures but the function is not working for me.

We have consigned with J.James several times and found it to be a pleasant experience. Josh, the owner and Kimberly, the office manager, were always ready to answer our questions and handled our business with professionalism. We will consign with them again!

I definitely would assign this business minus stars if there was a choice If you're considering auctioning some of your valuable belongings, stay clear of J. James Auctioneers and Appraisers in Plymouth, MA. You might as well hand them over to the first person you encounter in the street. You're apt to receive the same unprofessional treatment from a stranger.

I have used two other Auction Houses in MA and in comparison J. James was a horrific experience. Anything that I asked for and that I was told would happen was ignored. The owner appraised one of my items for $10,000. I told him not to sell it for less than $6,000. He sold it for far below the agreed price. When I asked him why, he answered that he thought I could use the money.

He also took a 30% commission on each item. This is so much higher than any other auction house. Each of my valuables was sold for almost nothing, although I specifically asked and wrote him that each item be held back if it did not reach the price that I wanted. Again, he sold everything for far below my agreed on price and took his 30% commission.

I can't impress upon you enough, stay away from this auction house at all cost! Do not believe the words you are told, and if you choose to proceed, get everything about each item in writing, signed and notarized. My mistake was in telling him over the phone, believing he was writing the prices down. Do not trust anything The settlement papers that were sent were a hoax.

Instead of identifying each item and it's weight, size, and a full description, the owner wrote "a collection of rings, " and "a collection of bracelets." When I wrote that I wanted a more detailed description, he called me up and started yelling at me that no one else had ever made that request. There is much more that transpired, but I hope this is enough to warn you off such an unprofessional business transaction. You would do much better selling your valuables at a flea market, and you could keep the 30% commission.
