Dimensions for each piece of furniture can be found on the signboard in the photo. They are written as width x depth x height. Many of the measurements on the signboards in the photos are expressed in centimeters. To convert to inches, divide by 2.54. We always round up to the nearest inch. LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT THING?
These are some pictures Bill took at our warehouse complex outside of Beijing. Some of you may recognize a piece you bought from us and have placed in your home. This is the way the furniture looks in its rough state, before any cleaning or repair has been done. Under each rough photo I have placed a photo of the same (or very similar) piece after restoration.
People often wonder how Chinese antique furniture will look in their own homes. Always functional, it can be whimsical, dignified, decorative or actually structural. We have put together some photos, all sent to me by long term customers, which illustrate different ways to use these beautiful and unique pieces in your own home.
The Great Wall of China has always been a huge draw for tourists, both Chinese and foreigners. The parking lots are almost always full, and there are big crowds at this entrance outside of Beijing almost year round. These pictures were taken in September, again by Bill in 2007. When I visited years ago, I remember it was almost hot at the bottom but by the time we reached our highest point it was very, very cold and we were walking through clouds. These arches just beg to be filled up and happen to be nearly the right size for a man to stand up straight inside.

Excellent selection of some very cool stuff. Prices range from reasonable to steep but better than the average antique spot

Excellent and unique shop! My wife and I were looking to make some changes in our home, and took the drive several hours to Oyster House. The shop deals in a wide range of well-labeled, unique, quality antique Chinese furniture, about which Helen, the manager, is very knowledgeable regarding its style, construction, and history. We found just the piece we wanted, and on her recommendation we made a set out of it.

Best of all, we arranged a fair deal to have her deliver the goods to our home, before which she had the pieces cleaned, touched up and looking sharp. It's worth taking the time to dig around the many recesses of the shop, and trust the experts who want to help you. And pick up a few trinkets as well to round out your purchase! What a wonderful experience we will repeat again soon!

I bought a little foo lion from here and had a pleasant conversation with the cashier. She took the time to tell me what the differences are between a Qi Lin and a Foo Lion.

I stopped by here with my sister this past Saturday. My sister and I are half black. We were followed around the store everywhere we went and harassed by a woman who works the cash register. She made us very uncomfortable, and we felt unwelcome. What is sad though is that our presence made her feel uncomfortable because we are black. The other customers in the store did not receive the same treatment.

That being said, I will not support a racist business. It is really too bad because we would have liked to make purchases, or at least have just enjoyed browsing. It's 2019. Do better.

Was visiting C'Ville 10/17/19-10/21/19. Stopped at store Thur 10/17 mid-afternoon. Sign in window said they'd be right back.stopped back later - closed. Stopped at store Fri 10/18 afternoon - closed - even though website said they were open. Stopped by store Sat morning 10/19 - closed - even though website said they were open. Sun morning 10/20 stopped by store - closed - even though website said they were open.

Each time I tried to visit the store, there was at least one other person or couple who were also trying to visit or even just looking in the window. On Sun 10/20, there were two other couples who had wished to visit store. I wanted to purchase a nice Buddha statute. I'm back home now and will purchase one here.
