I only get to shop with this store via internet. I have purchased a few pieces. They have always been perfect, packaged well and shipped quickly. I would recommend this store to anyone that enjoys tile and pottery.

I am a 25+ year collector of Batchelder tile and Roseville and Batchelder pottery. I have been dealing with Scott Wells throughout that time. You could not hope to find a more knowledgeable, honest and straightforward person to deal with. He is a true expert in the field of antique tile and pottery. His shop is a treasury of things from the Golden Age of California Tile and Pottery--Bauer, Gladding McBean, Claycraft, D&M, Taylor Tillery, Solon & Schemmel, Batchelder, et al.--it's all here, under one roof.

And Nancy and Scott are the kindest, friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure of dealing with. (By the way, some of the earlier reviews mention admission prices, live music, booths, denim jackets, snooty attitudes, etc.--obviously those reviewers were referring to a different business, as none of that exists, or has ever existed, at Wells Tiles & Antiques.) Highly recommended!

A graduate course in the history of California tile. Great, informative displays, super knowledgeable and helpful folks. Inspired our tile project, and showed us where to get what we needed. Love this place!

I am really impressed at both the quality and quantity of the selection for pottery and tiles. I can honestly say after speaking with Scott and Nancy that I have never met a more knowledge business ownership team in such a unique field. This place should always be your first stop when trying to source a very unique or rare piece!

Walking into Scotts store is like falling down Alice in Wonderland 's rabbit hole - full of unbelievable treasures. Important vintage tile, pottery, garden statuary + fountains, just extraordinary!

Loved the show. When I visited Los Angeles for the week this was on my list of must see stops. I wanted to just stick around and have mike teach me more things. It lived up to my expectations. Definitely a must visit if you are into the obscure.

I had heard of this place from my girlfriend so I decided to check it out. The store was a lot smaller than I expected it to be. Only about 5 people can be in the store at any given time. The store was filled to the brim with crazy and amazing things. There were pictures of corpses, old clothes, skulls, among lots of taxidermy. I will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Step through the front door and find yourself immersed in beauty. Their inventory is enormous, their taste impeccable and, amazingly, given the square footage, they know where everything is, so you'll know within minutes if they have whatever rare tile you're trying to match. If you are not in a hurry, take your time and revel in the unmatched treasures you will find here.

No one hovers, but Scott and Nancy are helpful, as others have noted. Nancy even emailed me photos of the tiles I was trying to match, which is better service than you'll find most places. Love this store!

An alright antique shop where people are a little bit on the snooty side. I've been to lots of antique shops in my life, its nothing to have attitude with.

What a building full of treasures. Looking for old Mission Tile? This is the place to go. Looking for old toilets or tubs? Check out the basement (with permission). BATCHELDOR galore in the basement.

This place is really cool! The full name is "Obscure Antiques and Oddities" and that should give you an idea of what you might find here on any given day. Weird stuff, man. In the best way possible. Go inside, check it out!

A museum where everything is for sale! Love their online store, visiting is a dream come true. Such nice people, and an amazing amount of great antique tile, bathroom fixtures, doors, Fiesta Ware, and all well displayed with information posted by it LOVE!

There isn't much more I can say about this place that everyone else already hasn't it is a gold mine with excellent service and their collection of antiques is outrageously huge.

Fantastic selection of antique tiles! The owner Scott Wells is super friendly and knowledgable. There's also an incredible array of garden and outdoor antiques, pottery, and just generally cool one-of-a-kind vintage finds. Another surprise is how many items are from the mid-century modern era or would totally fit into that vibe. Worth a trip from anywhere to experience this unique shop!

What a find! Yesterday I needed to find a 1920s vintage tile in an off size and off color. My contractor said, "it's impossible, I'll have to just use a close proximity." One phone call to Wells in the Echo Park area of Sunset Blvd was reassuring and in their well organized back room, we immediately found the exact tile - color and size at only $4!

Their service was knowledgeable and super helpful. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. What a welcome change from all of the rude 'phone assistance" I encountered in the LA suburbs that I called prior to Wells. I found that many of the tile outlets listed online as "los Angeles were actually located in places like Canoga Park. Forget the drive Angelenos -- stop by Wells!

Scott Wells is an expert in all things tile. His collection is unbelievable, as is his knowledge. I have even stopped in with tiles purchased elsewhere for his advice about installation or information about the producer.

He has a large selection of vintage California tiles, such as Malibu or Catalina, plus many pieces of reproduction tile and art tiles. In addition to tile, he sells garden statuary, some pottery, and California Impressionist paintings. The prices can be high, but there are some deals to be found. This is a go-to source for anyone living in a vintage Californian house, or simply for anyone who appreciates good things.

Then pull up your horses reigns up to Wells Antiques. They have all the super cute and colorful tiles, trimmings, that will make your new, old, or remodeled house flashback to the 20th century, when homeware was actually made solid and lasting.

They also carry a variety of vintage Bauer pottery from the early 20th century. Most of the tiles are old unlaid stock, or reclaimed/salvaged product from old homes. So ride 'em cowboy!
